This contingency plan has been prepared for the CPSC to ensure that in any emergency scenario, particularly floods, landslides, earthquakes and civil unrest, the national and district-level CPSCs are prepared and can respond with maximum efficacy to child protection (CP) needs. The contingency plan uses a standard model developed by OCHA, and draws on lessons learnt from the 2008 flooding emergencies in the East and Far West in particular.
