UNHCR's main objectives in Nepal were to support the Government, in identifying and implementing durable solutions for Bhutanese refugees, with a focus on re-registration of camp populations, re-settlement of refugees and issuance of basic documents; promote empowerment of refugees and their active involvement in camp management committees, with increased female participation; continue to strengthen prevention and response mechanisms to 'Sexual and Gender-Based Violence'(SGBV); and meet the basic welfare needs of camp and urban refugees while pursuing durable solutions.
