Interns in Action for a Cause

Young and enthusiastic interns in the United Nations have contributed to develop meta-data of thousands of UN publications storing UN Digital Repository in Nepal. Their immense efforts are counted for good causes in history of initiation of the repository. The interns work for the generation of metadata; they essentially feed or upload reports, publications, posters, press releases and other official manuscripts of the UN in Nepal to the database. The goal is to achieve 10 K documents by the release date. Other interns are involved in promotion packaging, article writing, reference library management and the ICT engineering aspect of the venture. The team is composed of energetic youths from various backgrounds such as engineering, social work, literature and journalism. The internship has high female participation.

Anjana Shrestha  
Ms. Anjana Shrestha was an intern at UNIC, who was a significant contributor to the generation of the records in the database. She was a Bachelor’s student at Santwona Memorial H.S. School and was majoring in Social Work. She completed her education from Shree Chandi Secondary School and intermediary studies from Children Park H.S. Boarding School. Ms. Shrestha had partaken in many professional training programs which covered number of fields such as Basic Computer Course, HIV and Drug, Leadership and Skill Development, Report Writing, Presentation Skills Enhancement, Interaction Programs, Documentary Analysis, Wikipedia Workshop and UN out-reach educational workshops. She also had social practice experience and had participated as a member of the silent drama team. Ms. Anjana is originally from Nuwakot.
 
Shova Giri   
Ms. Shova Giri was an intern at UNIC, who was responsible for feeding the repository with information. She was a Bachelor’s student, majoring in Social Work, in Santwona Memorial H.S. School. She concluded her schooling and intermediate studies from SOS Hermanngmeiner School at Surkhet. Ms. Giri had received training organized by YUWA, Eve Teasing and GPYC. She had also volunteered at Engage and Bihan, NGOs in Kathmandu.
Birkha Bahadur Dhami  

Mr. Birkha Dhami was an intern at UNIC, who was a vital member in the process of developing metadata for the repository database. He was currently studying at Santwona College in Kathmandu for a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. He finished his higher studies from Janpriya Higher Secondary School in Masuriaya in Kailali and did his schooling at Chandrodaya HS School. Mr. Dhami was affiliated with SAATH, One Tree My Responsibility, and Activist Nepal as an active social worker. He had also worked at the Informal Sector Service Center, Force Nepal and had volunteered at different programs organized by National Federation of the Disabled Nepal and International Down Syndrome Society. Mr. Birkha was a member of Disability Anamnagar, Kathmandu and of Center from Research and Development (C-Red), Bajhang. He had received training from a number of organizations such as Welcome Computer Center, AAKANSHYA, HIV Esparsa Nepal, Voice of Children, SASAKAWA and YUWA on various fields. He had also completed a research paper on “Chhaupadi Partha”, Bajhnag, Bhamchur.

 
Luni Shrestha Maskey   
Mrs. Luni Shrestha Maskey was an intern at UNIC, who was a Bachelor’s in Social Work student at Santwona Memorial Multiple Campus. Mrs. Maskey had worked as a teacher and as a volunteer at National Federation of the Disabled-Nepal (NFDN). She was also an intern at SAAR Nepal at Thapa Gaun. Mrs. Shrestha had partaken in many professional training programs covering number of fields such as Basic Computer Course, HIV and Drug, Leadership and Skill Development, Report Writing, Presentation Skills Enhancement and UN out-reach educational workshops. She is a proud mother and a wife.
Dina Jangam   
Ms. Dina Jangam was an intern at UNIC, who was an essential contributor to developing the metadata of the digital repository. She held a degree in Intermediate in Science and was a student for Bachelor’s of Arts in Social Work. Ms. Jangam completed her pilot training from Aviator Fly’n Inc Mactan Cebu International Airport, Cebu, Philippines (2008-2009). She had participated in numerous professional training programs covering number of fields such as Basic Computer Course, HIV and Drug, Leadership and Skill Development, Report Writing, Presentation Skills Enhancement and UN out-reach educational workshops.  Ms. Dina is originally from Panauti in Nepal.
Komal Kunwar  

Ms. Komal Kunwar was an intern at UNIC, who was a recent graduate from Rato Bangala School, Kathmandu. She helped improve the digital repository and was responsible for writing articles on the website. She had been involved in seven different national and international Model United Nations conferences, including the First International MUN in Nepal organized with collaboration of UNIC, Kathmandu. Ms Kunwar was the President of the Interact Club of Rato Bangala School under Rotary of Patan South and actively conducted various initiatives. She was the Professional Development Director and Executive Board Member of the Interact District Council 3292, Nepal and Bhutan. She had attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) Conference in Palpa, South Asian Youth Conference (SAYC) in Kathmandu and MUMKIN Initiative Conference of Regional Schools in South Asia in India. She was an intern at Family Health International 360, supported by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) at Paurakhi Nepal. Ms. Komal volunteered at the Pashupatinath Old Age Home and enjoys horse riding and playing the piano. She is fluent in English and Nepali and had taken beginner’s French lessons.  

Deepika Dhakal  

Ms. Deepika Dhakal was an intern at UNIC, who essentially contributed to the generation of the metadata for the repository. She was studying at Kathmandu Model College towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, majoring in English and Social Work. She finished her A-levels from Saipal Academy and did her schooling from Siddhartha Vanasthali Institute. Deepika is associated with Life Skill Network, Kathmandu where she was the National Coordinator and Ambassador. She was also a General Member of ECO Himal Nepal and Farming for Health. Before UNIC, Ms. Dhakal was an intern at Parichaya Samaj, Red Cross Society’s BLODAN, YUWA and ECO Himal. She had volunteered for the Global Peace Festival in South Asia (2010), the Kathmandu Cycle Rally (2009), Bagmati Cleaning Campaign and had been involved in organizing a number of blood donation campaigns. Ms Deepika has attended numerous workshops, including Workshop on Leadership through Volunteerism from Global Peace Volunteer Nepal, Workshop on Career Planning Process, Time Management, Leadership and Self Motivation from StepUP Foundation Bangladesh and the First International Career Summit in Bangladesh. She enjoys travelling, music and photography. She had also received photography training from School of Creative Communications.

 

Bindu Poudel  
Ms. Bindu Poudel was an intern at UNIC, who was a valuable asset in contributing for the generation of themeta-content for the digital repository. She was studying for a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies at Public Youth Campus (Tribhuvan University) Chhetrapati, Kathmandu. She did her schooling from Nepal Adarsha Madhyamic Vidhyalaya and intermediate studies from Paropakar Adarsha HS School, Bimshentha. Previously, Ms. Poudel was an intern at the Operation Department Central Office of Prime Bank Limited. She had received training from Nepal Red Cross Society and also volunteered in Nepal Health Camp organized by Soch. Ms. Bindu takes pleasure in cooking and engaging herself in numerous social works.  
Anjana Sharma  
Ms. Anjana Sharma was an intern at UNIC, who was an important asset in generating the meta-content for the repository database. She was studying in Santwona Memorial Multiple Campus for a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. She was born and raised in Kalimpong where she studied at St. Philomena Girl’s HS School. Ms. Sharma had been involved in a number of professional training, including Basic Computer Course, HIV & AIDS and Drugs Training, Leadership Skills Development Training, Report Writing, Documentary and Presentation Skills Enhancement. She enjoyed reading, volunteering and spending time with her closed ones. Ms Anjana is spiritual and is dedicated to meditation.
Asha Pariyar   
Ms. Asha Pariyar was an intern at UNIC, who was a vital member in the process of developing the metadata for the repository. She was studying at Santwona Memorial Academy for a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. She was actively involved in Youth Activist Leadership Council (YALC) from YUWA, which works for the advocacy for sexual and reproductive health at a national level. Ms. Asha also worked with SAATH (Social Service, Awareness Raising and Advocacy for Tranquility and Humanity) for two years, where she worked on an HIV and drug awareness program supported by UNODC. Ms. Pariyar had volunteered at the National Federation of the Disabled- Nepal and had attended number of training covering vast fields such as Anchoring, Leadership and Communication, Strategy Planning, Fund Rasing, Proposal Writing and Report Writing. Ms Asha was part of the Invisible Drama by Accountability Lab and one month campaign by Hamri Bahini. She especially enjoyed Drama and has been part of numerous productions.
Bhawani Dhungana  
Mrs. Bhawani Dhungana was an intern at UNIC, who was dedicated to the library and information society at the UN library in Kathmandu. She assisted in organizing books, cataloging reports, compiling articles and handling people who were frequent visitors to the library. She was also a Bachelor’s student at Tribhuwan University and was majoring in humanities. Mrs. Dhungana had worked as a Computer Operator in the Supreme Court of Nepal since 2061 B.S. She received Library Management Training (CTEVET) from Kathmandu Valley Public Library and Computer Training from IT Park Institute. She also has skills of operating PMB Software, WINISIS Software and Dewey decimal classification for library management. Mrs. Bhawani takes pleasure in social service and reading current affairs and realistic literature. She is a proud mother of two sons.
Abhimat Shrestha
 
Mr. Abhimat Shrestha was an intern at UNIC, who was a member in the process of developing mobile application for the repository database. He was studying Computer Science and Information Technology (Bsc.CSIT) at New Summit College in Kathmandu. He completed his intermediate level from Trinity International College and did his schooling from Little Angels School . Mr. Shrestha was an Executive member of CSITAN and acquired Computer Skills such as Programming Languages, Web Design, Android and Windows Forms Development. He also has experience with unity game development software. He has been an active participant during the events of Ncell App Camp, Child Gameathon and Human Trafficking Appathon. He had also volunteered in CAN Info Tech. Mr. Shrestha enjoys coding and martial arts. Abhimat Shrestha
Anamol Dhakal
 
Mr. Anamol Dhakal was an intern at UNIC, who had recently completed his Bsc Hons in Business Computing and Information System from University of Central Lancashire.  Mr. Dhakal was a vital member of mobile application developer for repository database. He was  working as Chief Technical Officer for Dosewallet. Mr. Dhakal has also worked as supervisor at Softwarica College of IT and Research Center, Kathmandu as well as web designer and programmer at Youthtech IT Solution. He finished his higher studies from New Summit College and completed his schooling from Bhirkuti Secondary School. Mr. Dhakal is skilled with Software and Programing knowledge. He was a Microsoft Student Partner (MSP) for his college. His field of interest were in children and health so he was planning to launch a game about differently able children. He is highly involved in programming, animation and artificial intelligence. Anamol Dhakal
Angela Dangol
 
Ms. Angela Dangol was an intern at UNIC, who was essential in the creation of data for the database. She held a Bachelors' Degree in Social Work from K&K International College. Ms. Angela had finished her schooling from DAV School and intermediate level from United College. She had attained vocational trainings related to Improving Reproductive & Sexual Health of Young People by Increasing the Age at Marriage from Society for Local Integrated Development Nepal (SOLID) and Child Sexual Abuse, Child Friendly Local Governance, Child Labor, Club Management, Facilitator and Environment Class (3R) from Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City. Ms. Angelal had been actively volunteering in several NGOs including The Spark Children Home, Concern Nepal, Expansion Nepal and AYON (Association of Youth Organization Nepal) and has also worked in Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City. She was an active social worker involved in various welfare programs. Ms. Angela is full of energy who loves to travel and enjoy different cultures. Angela Dangol
Bikash Paneru
 
Mr. Bikash Paneru was an intern at UNIC, who was a significant contributor to the generation of the mobile application for the database. He did his higher studies from Liverpool International College and schooling from N.K. Singh Memorial E.P.S School. Mr. Paneru was studying Bachelors in Computer Science and Information Technology (Bsc.CSIT) at St. Xavier’s College. Mr. Paneru had worked as Designer of SXC Heroics 1st Edition. He was highly skilled in computers and was a finalist of Nationwide Web Design Competition. While studying Mr. Paneru had carried out some projects like Academic Internal Marking System (AIMS). He was a Microsoft Student Partner (MSP) for St. Xavier’s College. He has actively participated in Human Trafficking Appathon. He is interested in b-boying. Bikash Paneru
Kush Gautam
 

Mr. Kush Gautam was an intern at UNIC, who was a current student at New Summit College studying Computer Science and Information Technology (Bsc.CSIT) . He helped with the mobile application development. Mr. Gautam worked at Z Galaxy Center , Software and Hardware Maintenance . He has done his schooling from Jana Priya Higher Secondary School and higher studies from Liverpool International College . Mr. Gautam is a certified Microsoft Professional. He has conducted projects on Inventory and Accounting package for a Computer Shop and Ms-Access projects of Echo Cardiogram and Color Doppler Report for Clinic . Mr. Gautam has attained training on Ethical Hacking. He also has experience with Unity game development software. He has been involved in Mass Volunteering and Graphics Designer on event - World Largest Human National Flag of Nepal as well as participated in Child Gameathon organized by UNICEF with Microsoft and Human Trafficking Appathon . Mr. Gautam has good Computer Skills who loves Programming, Designing, Sketching and b-boying as well.

Mr. Lawa Gautam was an intern at UNIC, who was a member in the process of developing mobile application for the repository database. He studied in Jana Priya Higher Secondary School and did his intermediate level from Liverpool International College. He was studying Computer Science and Information Technology (Bsc.CSIT) at New Summit College. Mr. Gautam had attained training on Ethical Hacking. He had been involved in Mass Volunteering and Graphics Designer on event - World Largest Human National Flag of Nepal and has participated in Child Gameathon and Human Trafficking Appathon as well. Mr. Gautam is a certified Microsoft Professional who had conducted projects on Inventory and Accounting package for a Computer Shop and Ms-Access projects of Echo Cardiogram and Color Doppler Report for Clinic. He also has experience with Unity game development software. He enjoys b-boying along with programming and sports. Lawa Gautam
Manisha Kumari  
Ms. Manisha Kumari was an intern at UNIc, who was a recent post graduate from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She was an important asset to our team, as she worked on the UN Digital Repository; essentially on the development of metadata. Before UNIC, Ms. Kumari worked for three years as an Artist in the External Services of Bangladesh Betar in Bangladesh. She held a MBA in Finance from University of Asia Pacific, Bangladesh and an MSS in Peace and Conflict Studies, from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She did her undergraduate from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Ms. Kumari is fluent in English, Nepali, and Hindi and has taken basic lessons of Spanish language.
Narendra Bikram Bista  
Mr. Narendra Bista was an intern at UNIC. He was involved in the management of the repository server and supported the IT aspect of the initiative. He was studying for a Bachelor’s Degree at Himalaya College of Engineering. He was involved in the National Association of the Deaf and Hard of hearing (NGO- NADH) as an IT volunteer. Mr. Narendra had partaken in numerous conferences such as, Braindigit 9th and 10th National ICT Conference; 3rd University Industry Tie-Up organized by CSIT Association of Nepal; Master of Ceremony Training organized by Eurasia Reiyukai; Seminar on Web Security organized by Computer Association of Nepal; Youth Advocacy for Accountability and Transparency organized by Youth Initiative; Social Entrepreneurship Training; National Level Science and Technology Exhibition and Tech Mela. Mr. Bista had been involved in number of youth advocacy activities. He was also a volunteer at Nepal Red Cross Society and was a volunteer presenter of cybercrime at the Central Investigation Bureau of the Nepal Police during the SUBISU CAN SofTech, 2014. Mr. Bista is spiritual and is dedicated to NEO SANNYAS ACADEMY, OSHO TAPOWAN.
Praju Shrestha
 
Ms. Praju Shrestha was an intern at UNIC, who was an essential contributor to develop the metadata of the digital repository. She was a recent graduate of Bachelors in Social Work from K&K College. She had completed her schooling from GEMS School and higher studies from Prime College. Ms. Praju had worked as an official for Nepal Badminton Association in the past. As a social worker she had volunteered in various organizations including Concern Nepal, Bal Kendra (Child Welfare Society) and Adarsha Bal Vikas Kendra School. She has also worked for International Citizen Service (ICS) as volunteer peer educator from Restless Development. Ms. Praju had actively participated in First South Asian LGBTI Sports Festival organized by Blue Diamond Society and Sexual & Gender Minorities Student Forum, Nepal. Sh had been involved in various events, rallies and campaigns for the social welfare. She enjoyed dancing, singing and travelling to new places. praju.shrestha
Reshma Dangol  
Mrs. Reshma Dangol was an intern at UNIC, who was involved in library organizing, cataloging, compiling articles and was available  to the people who frequented the library. She held a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Study and dual Masters Degrees in Business Studies and Library Information Science from Tribhuvan University. She was previously a library intern at the International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) where she was responsible for organizing the e-library, updating the library database, assisted digitizing and coding books and journals and helped develop the resource center. Before that, she was a librarian, exam coordinator and administrative at Pathshala Nepal Foundation and Prime International College. Reshma was affiliated with number of organizations as An Active Volunteer; Nepal GIS Society, Women Development Training Center, Nepal Red Cross Society, Brahma Sports Club and Naryana Pariwar Club. Mrs. Dangol had also attended conferences organized by Nepal Library Association including Nepal Conference on Improving Research Infrastructure with Social Media and International Conference on Library, Information and Knowledge Management Service in the Social Media Era. Mrs. Resma is currently working in Health Net Nepal, an NGO for health networking and research.
Sapana K.C. Silwal   
Ms. Sapana K.C. Silwal was an intern at UNIC, where she assisted in projects such as the United Nations Digital Repository in Nepal and UN Corner. She held a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Kathford International College of Engineering and Management. She did her schooling from Nava Jyoti H.S. School and her further studies from Prasadi Academy College of Management. Ms. Silwal has working knowledge of customer relationship management, consumer behavior, business communications and basic financial and management accounting. Before UNIC, she received 3 months of banking training and an opportunity to intern at Sunrise Bank. Ms Sapana has finished basic and advance course in computer training and is skilled in using accounting packages such as Tally. 
Yasho Hangma Rai  
Ms. Yasho Hangma Rai was an intern at UNIC, who was essential in the creation of data for the database. She has a Masters and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Campion College, where she served at the Student Council (as Vice President and later as Class Representative) for five years. Ms. Hangma had conducted a field work study on the Social and Economic status of Street Children in Lalitpur district. She has also completed a General English Course, Advance I from British Council. Ms. Rai enjoys singing, reading and travelling.
Leela Shrestha  
Ms Leela Shrestha was an intern at UNIC, who had completed her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from DAV College of Management. She played a pivotal role in creation and generating the meta- content for the repository database as well as in admin related works. She has finished her schooling from Gaurishanker Higher Secondary School and intermediate from United College. Ms. Leela has good knowledge of Customer relationship, Business Communication and Finance and Management Accounting. Before UNIC, she did two months internship at NCC Bank. She had been involved in number of professional trainings. She had volunteered in Blood donation Program and Franchising and International Business Opportunities held at DAV College. She had been awarded as Best Team in Critical Thinking and Decision Making presentation entitled Sexual Harassment in Kathmandu Valley and she had also been awarded as overall performer of the year in fourth Semester. Ms. Leela is very dedicated and determined towards her work.  
Sunayana Bhetwal  
Ms. Sunayana Bhetwal was an intern at UNIC, who was an abbretiate contributor in developing the meta-data of digital repository. She was a student of Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Santwona Memorial Multiple Campus. She had completed her schooling education from Ratna Shikshya Sadan. Ms. Bhetwal had been involved in number of professional trainings: Basic Computer Course, HIV & AIDS and Drugs Training, Leadership Skill Development Training, Report Writing, Documentary and Presentation Skills Enhancement. She has done internship at Accountability Lab. She has participated as a member of Force Nepal (Sankhu Plastic Free Campaign).   
Prajwal Sagar Shrestha  
Mr. Prajwal Sagar Shrestha was an intern at UNIC, who was involved at assisting in research project work of UN Digital Repository in Nepal. He was a student of Kathmandu University studying MBA in Project Management. Before UNIC, Mr. Shrestha worked as a Technical Warrant Officer for two years at Nepal Army, and worked as Civil Engineer at Decatech Consultancy for fifteen months. He has completed Bachelor’s degree from Kathmandu Engineering College in BE- Civil Engineer. He has participated in various Engineering and Management workshops, organizing committee of KUSOM Annual Festival 2014, executive member of KUSOM Student Welfare Council, member of Nepal Engineers’ Association as well as member of Nepal Engineering Council. He has also done many Academic Projects.   
Pragya Pokharel  
Ms. Pragya Pokharel was an intern at UNIC, who significantly contributed in generating the meta-content for the repository database. She was a student of Social Work studying at Kathmandu Model College, majoring in English and Social Work. She had completed higher studies from Katmandu Model College and schooling from Prolific Higher Secondary School. As a social work student, she has volunteered in various organization including Teach for Nepal, Youth for Blood, YUWA and Bibeksheel Nepali. Ms. Pragya has actively participated in different programs. She has been rewarded as 1st runner up in Intra College Painting Competition on the occasion of World Environment Day. She has conducted Khulla Akash ma, an open discussion program and given Art and Craft Training to the Participants of Junior Icon. She enjoyes reading novels and travelling new places.  
Alisha Thapaliya  
Ms. Alisha Thapaliya was an intern at UNIC, who effectively contirbuted in producing the meta-content for the repository database. She was a student of Santwona College, focusing in social work. She completed higher studies from NASA International College and schooling from Tridevi Secondary English Boarding School. Ms.Thapaliya has adequately shown enthusiasm in various volunteering programs and went to trainings (Basic Office bundle course and Himalayan IT). She finished her 9 months internship at Accountability Lab, 6 months Administrative assistant in Kumari Jobs Pvt. Ltd and 45 days volunteer at Santwona College. She has been rewarded as second runner up at Face of the Year 2014 beauty contest. She enjoys surfing the web, persuing daily paper and magazines.
Sangita Shrestha  
Ms. Sangita Shrestha was an intern at UNIC, who in particular helped to develope the meta-data of digital repository. She was a student of Bachelor's degree in Social Work at Trivubhan University (TU). Ms. Shrestha has been involved in number of professional trainings; "Hamro Sawal Hamro Sahabhagita" and "Social and Financial Development" organized by UNICEF, Leadership Skills Development by GPYC, Report Writing and Proposal Writing and had participated in different rallies. She completed her internship on different aspects; Engage, Blue Diamond Society, Sexual and Gender Minorities Student Forum and Cocap. She is extremely eager and an work-adoring individual.
Sabina Rayamajhi  
Ms.Sabina Rayamajhi was an intern at UNIC, who was vital in creating the meta-content for the repository database. She was a student of Santwona Memorial Multiple Campus for a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Ms.Rayamajhi completed her intermediate from Alliance Academy H.S School and gained her School Leaving Certificate from Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya. She has been incorporated in various professional training including Basic computer course, Leadership and Presentation Skills, Report Writing, Personality Development. Her major participation was at reconstruction and rebuilding during earthquake from NYAR (National Youth Alliance of Reconstruction), also volunteered for 1 year in Accountability lab in IIN (Integrity Idol Nepal) programme. She officially completed her 3 months internship at Child Nepal (NGO). She is outstandingly given towards her work whatever she does.
Sajina Adhikari
 

Ms. Sajina Adhikari was an intern at UNIC, who played an effective role in producing the meta- content for the repository database. She was handling the social networking sites of UNIC. She was a student of BBA from The British College, Thapathali. She had completed her higher studies from Trinity International College. Her schooling was from Daisy English Higher Secondary Boarding School. She has taken trainings on the advanced basic computer course and on business correspondence writing. She has worked as a documentation officer and computer operator at Sun Hills Overseas Pvt. Ltd for two years. She was passionate for playing Table Tennis as she wants to see herself as national player in the near future. She has won various tournaments related to the Table Tennis. Ms. Adhikari is fond of travel ling and exploring new places in order to experience lifestyle of people in different geographic regions.

Rakshya Sharma
 

Ms. Rakshya Sharma was an intern at UNIC, who played a vital role in producing the meta-content for the repository database. She had effective contribution for the management of the financial and administrative section. She is a student of Nepal Commerce Campus (NCC) focusing herself on business studies. She has completed her higher studies from V.S. Niketan College whereas she has accomplished her schooling from Season English Secondary Boarding School. During her work at UNIC, Ms. Sharma was very much energetic and enthusiastic. She has even worked as an Assistant Accountant at Aptech Computer Institute for 6 months. She has knowledge about handling customers and their queries, posting and validation of data, preparing vouchers in Ledger and Remittance division and keeping proper records of work done as she had already worked as intern on Siddhartha Bank for 3 months. She is optimistic in nature and believe in hard work. She loves to read newspapers, magazines. She is fond of writing poems and singing songs. Ms. Sharma even enjoys adventures and travel ling long distances.

Neharika Kafle
 

Ms. Neharika Kafle was an intern at UNIC, who played a vital role in producing the meta-content for the repository database. She has effectively contributed in the management of the financial and administrative section. She was doing her Master's in Business Administration. In 2014, she finished her BBS in Accounting from Nepal Commerce Campus, Tribhuvan University. She accomplished her schooling from Annapurna English Secondary School and higher studies from Moonlight Higher Secondary School. She is fluent in English and Nepali. She has knowledge in using Microsoft Office Package and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). She had participated in Clean Bagmati Campaign. Also, she had helped raise fund for orphans for their study and daily basic needs fulfillment after the devastating earthquake on 25th April, 2015. Ms. Kafle has worked as an event coordinator at various activities of School Of Management Tribhuvan University (SOMTU). She was an active member of NCASA and has participated in the Debate Club at SOMTU. Ms Kafle's enthusiastic and optimistic nature keeps her dedicated towards her work.

Pratikshya Maharjan  
Ms. Pratikshya Maharjan was an intern at UNIC, who was a vital member in administration work. She was a Bachelor Degree student in Business Administration in Everest College. She finished her higher level from DAV Sushil Keadia Vishwa Bharati and did her schooling at Hill-Town International Higher Secondary School. She had participated in training programs like Graphic Designing Course from Colloquium Language and Computer Designing Course from American Language Center. She had excellent Communication Skills both written and verbal in English and was quick and meticulous learner with Time Management skills. She was a dedicated and flexible team worker.
Deepa Poudel
 
Ms. Deepa Poudel was an intern at UNIC, who was a significant contributor to content development in digital Repository. She was a Bachelor Degree student at Golden Gate International College and was majoring in Social Work and Economics. She completed her Secondary and Higher Secondary level from Bibhuti Vidya Mandir. Ms. Poudel had taken part in college campaigns like Community Cleaning Program, Community Awareness about basic health and hygiene etc. She had also volunteered in Accountability Lab and fund raising for the education of two girls from Janajati’s community. She has good interpersonal skills, basic concepts of management and economics, MS-Office Package, and basic Computer Skills (operating System, Database Management System). She had the ability to work in group and under pressure. 
Sadikshya Raut  
Ms. Sadikshya Raut was an intern at UNIC, who effectively contributed in producing the meta-contents for the repository database. She was a student of Bachelor's Degree from St.Xavier's College focusing in Social Work and Major English. She had completed her higher studies from St. Lawrence College and did her schooling from Brihaspati Vidhyasadan. She worked as an Action Learner, Assessment Selector and Consultant in VSO ICS Nepal in Lamjung district for 3 months in Education sector as well as conducted different activities in school and community about health sanitation, Disaster Risk reduction (DRR) and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). She had partaken in many voluntary works such as in Maiti Nepal in legal section,"Disable and Helpless Children New Life Center" and Nepal Red Cross Society. She was a trainee in “Clear Vision”, a rehabilitation Drug Center and has participated in workshop about Drug Addiction and HIV/ AIDS and also participated in a training programme “Volunteer Leadership Training” organized by Youth For Blood.  
Bimbika Thapa  
Ms. Bimbika Thapa was an intern at UNIC, who contributed in creating the meta-content for the repository database. She was a student of National College for Bachelors degree in Social Science. Ms. Thapa gained her School Leaving Certificate (SLC) and completed her intermediate level from St. Mary's Higher Secondary School. She had successfully completed online course on Research Ethics offered by Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia and also has basic knowledge in Chinese language (Mandarin), Social Impact Assesment and Geographical Information System (GIS). During her work at UNIC, she was very energetic and enthusiastic. Bimbika has also worked as a part time coordinator at Kinder Planet Pre-school and was also an intern at Global Family Village/Nepal. She had practical skills in research, project analysis and design. Ms. Thapa's optimistic nature keeps her dedicated towards her work.  
Poonam Rauniyar
 
Ms. Poonam Rauniyar was an intern at UNIC, who was a vital member in the process of developing the metadata for the repository. She was studying in R.R. College for a Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities, majoring in English and Political Science. She had worked in the production and promotion of film 'Highway', the film which was selected in Berlin Film Festival and was currently taught in Harvard University in United States of America. She had worked in Association of Youth Organisations,Nepal (AYON). Ms. Rauniyar has also worked as a teacher. She had taken Acting Course from Actor Studio, Kathmandu. She has a Basic Computer Knowledge and can speak English, Nepali, Maithali and Hindi languages well.  
Prabigya Manandhar  
Ms. Prabigya Manadhar was an intern at UNIC, who earned a Bachelor's Degree from Tribhuwan University in Social Work and Rural Development. In addition, to her educational qualification, she had a varied experience after working as an intern with organizations like Bihani Social Venture, Global Peace Foundation and Friends Service Council Nepal. With three years of experience in the field of social work, Ms. Manandhar was a true gem. She contributed by developing meta-data for the digital repository and also dealt with clients who often visited the library. Ms. Manandhar was also a content developer for UNIC's repository. Moreover, she was proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Office and Presentation.
Prafful Shrestha  
Mr. Prafful Shrestha, was an intern at UNIC, who pursued his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Pokhara University. During the months of his internship at UNIC, Mr. Shrestha was responsible for managing and publishing different pieces of content, uploading reports, publications and developing meta-data for the repository database. He also completed eights weeks of internship with Nabil Bank Ltd as part of his degree course. In addition, he has valuable experience working with Universal Trade Link in the field of finance, sales and marketing. He took a web designing course- Certificate of Proficiency in Information Systems Management (CPISM), which provides an extensive knowledge on Microsoft Office Tools, Web Page Designing, Database Design and Implementation skills.
Apsara Kafle  

Ms. Apsara Kafle was as an intern at UNIC, who made a significant contribution by generating meta-data for the repository, taking care of the reference library and through content development. She was in her third year at Santwona Memorial Multiple Campus, where she studied Social Work. She had accumulated good experience in social practice through Accountability Lab and Creativity Youth Empower Nepal (CYEN). Ms. Kafle made a considerable effort during World AIDS Day by helping the employees of SAATH in their event. Furthermore, she had participated in different workshops to enhance her skills in Report Writing, Wikipedia and Documentary & Analytical Session.

Sushmita Kunwar  

Ms. Sushmita Kunwar was an intern at UNIC, who was a graduate from St. Xavier College in Social Work. Ms. Kunwar took keen interest working in organization and development sectors. In her journey to be a social worker she enrolled herself in different sector of NGOs .She worked as External Communication Officer in Solar Cinema Nepal, Involved in six months and two weeks of traineeship provided by Heartbeat Nepal and Matullin Primary school helsinki respectively. Besides, being active in social work, she had worked as an assistant A Level Sociology Teacher at Kathmandu Academy. Furthermore, about her Educational background she completed her secondary education from Universal Collage and preparatory school and higher secondary level and Higher Secondary education from Kathmandu Academy.

 
Prativa Shrestha  

Ms. Prativa Shrestha was an intern at UNIC, who was a graduated in BBA from Ace Institute of Management. Though, Ms. Shrestha was a student from Business Sector, nothing stopped her to be a part of UNIC and to work voluntarily in other NGOs. She was one of the active interns and was a facilitator at Social Welfare Center Eldely's Home at Pashupatinath, Kathmandu. She pursued her Secondary and Higher Secondary Education from Pennwood Academy and National Higher Secondary School respectively. She completed her internship at in Remittance Department, Nabil Bank, Organized ACE Business Fest 2017.

Anita Karki  

Ms. Anita Karki, was an intern at UNIC, who was a social work student from Pentagon International College. Ms. Karki's enthusiastic and inquisitive nature dragged her to experience and gain knowledge about UNIC. She had been involved in different activities carried out by various organizations. Ms. Karki had operated herself as an Field supervisor in Research Enclave for an year, was an intern in Research based organization called Swatantra Aviyan, involved in Teaching field for Pentagon Montessori kids for four months.

Pallavi Thapa  

Ms. Pallavi Thapa was an intern at UNIC, who had completed her Bachelors of Arts from St. Xavier's College. Ms. Thapa has volunteered in various organizations from teaching to providing helping hands in different natural calamities. She had more than four years of work experience, working as a Senior Sales Agent at Link plus Offshore for nearly two years, Front Desk Agent at Blue Star Cargo Private Limited and as a Dispatcher at Saturn Outsource Private Limited. She was inspired by magical realism authors.

Naziya Samad  

Ms. Naziya Samad was an intern at UNIC, who played a significant role in content development.She furnished logistical help during various events which were held here. Alongside, her co-interns Ms. Samad, filmed videos in five main languages of Nepal regarding the articles of UDHR. She was enrolled in MBA from Lincoln International College. Ms.Samad is multi-lingual as she is fluent in English, Nepali, Hindi and Urdu.

 
Prashant Sanjel  

Mr. Prashant Sanjel was an intern at UNIC, who provided support in content development. Mr. Sanjel completed his schooling from Gothatar English Secondary School and Kathmandu Barsha Higher Secondary School and College. He was pursuing Bachlor's Degree from St. Xavier's College. During his term here, he provided aid in logistics. Among other tasks assigned to him here, Mr. sanjel with his co-interns successfully filmed videos in five main languages of Nepal regarding the articles of UDHR. Over the years, he had worked as an office assistant in National Office Service and Freelancer as an online worker of Crowd Compute.

 
Sanjiya Shrestha  

Ms. Sanjiya Shrestha was an intern at UNIC, whose core work was content development ie. Analyzing/ Editing Reports, Newletters, Press Release, and files in PDF. She has edited and uploaded over 1000 documents during her tenure. She was on a Bachlor's Programme third year, in the Humanities field. Ms. Shrestha has been a bright student throughout her educational history, where she had secured first division during her School Leaving Certificate (SLC) from Laboratory Higher Secondary School abd even during her A Levels from National Intrigated College. In her cap of achievements, she had interned with Milijuli; Sanga-sagai; Chain For Change; and conducted health awareness camp in the latter. Ms. Shrestha had attended various training programmes in the field of Journalism, Communications, HIV/ AIDS, Risk Management of Sexual Violence against Women, Android Devices Orientation for Persons with Visual and Print Disabilities.  

 
Rohini Lama  

Ms. Rohini Lama was an intern at UNIC,who assisted with content development. She had helped with logistics and filmed articles of UDHR with her co-interns, in five main languages of Nepal. Ms. Lama was pursuing Bachlor's Degree in Social Work from St. Xavier's College. She completed her A Levels from Moonlight Higher Secondary School and her schooling from Kalayan English Boarding School. Among her work experiences, she had interned at UCEP, ENGAGE and Teach For Nepal. Ms. Lama had volunteered in Earthquake Relief Programme, collected end line data for EFLG Programme, Field Visit, Survey Programme, Case Study and Simulation Programme.

 
Ajit Kumar Baral  

Mr. Ajit Kumar Baral was an intern at UNIC, who contributed for the enhancement of the mobile application 'UN Digital Library'. He provided logistical and technical support during events held here. He was pursuing his Bachlor's Degree from St. Xavier's College. Mr. Baral completed his A Levels from United Academy and his schooling from DAV School achieving first division in both the schools. He had interned in Pagoda Labs as an android programmer. Mr. Baral had volunteered as Java and Android Programmer for the project of Relief Management System. He had been involved in projects such as Human Resource Management and Air PAy from the platform Web and Android respectively. In addition to this, he had great interest and knowledge in the IT sector, He had good knowledge on J2EE Technologies, Web Technologies, Design Patterns, Mobile technologies, APIs, IDE Tools, Web Servers, Database, Frameworks, Operating System, and Version Control Tools.

 
Malika Thapa   

Ms. Malika Thapa was an intern in the UN information Centre in 2018. She played significant role in content development i.e. analyzing/editing reports,newsletters,press release and any other offical document to catalouge in UN Digital Library in Nepal. She assisted logistical support in various UN observances and in events inside and out the UN's premises. As an intern at UNIC, she greatly contributed for the enhancement of the mobile application "UN Digital Library in Nepal".Malika had graduation in science with her specialization in Human Resource Management from University of Nottingham, Nottingham,United Kingdom, Bachelor's in Arts and Honors in Psychology from St. Bede's College,Shimla- India. She possessed wide range of professional skills in Nepal and beyond the border exploring Belgium,France,Singapore and Spain. She had proficiency in English, Nepali and Hindi languages. Classical and Salsa dance were her hobbies. 

 
Prativa Dawadi  
Ms. Prativa Dawadi was an intern at UNIC, who had just completed her master’s degree in Business Administration from Ace Institute of Management, Kathmandu. She was an essential contributor for developing the metadata of the digital repository and was responsible for writing articles on the website. Moreover, she had contributed greatly in various UN observances and in events inside and out of the UN’s premises. ‘A beauty with the brain’, Ms. Prativa was a finalist and the winner for ‘Miss beauty with a purpose’ at Miss Nepal 2016; and the winner for the title ‘Most popular’ at Miss Nepal Culture 2015. She was also awarded for “Best Position Paper” of Sustainable Development Goals seated by UN in Global Goals Model United Nations to realize 17 global Goals for a Brighter World which was held on January 2019 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Having an academic background in business administration, and an extensive work experience in media and modelling, she always believed in holistic social transformation through the economic and social development of the nation.
Hangen Limbu  
Mr. Hangen Limbu was an intern at UNIC, who played a vital role in the process of developing metadata for the repository database. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Psychology at Central Department of Psychology, Tribhuvan University. As a graduate in social work and a mental health activist, he has received the trainings on health research, psychosocial counselor, Communication-based psychosocial intervention, Individual Counseling, Suicide prevention facilitation, art therapy, and “Radio Talk show and Storytelling”. At UNIC, he had played a vital role in the conduction and implementation of various UN observances and events.
