STRENGTHENING THE RULE OF LAW AND HUMAN RIGHTS PROTECTION SYSTEM IN NEPAL PROGRAMME
PDF File Size: 2.66 MB | Download
The Strengthening the Rule of Law and Human Rights Protection Systems in Nepal Programme (the Programme) has created a basis for transformative change in the justice sector, especially in institutionalizing the legal aid system. Demonstrating the effectiveness of socio-legal aid support in the pilot districts, the Programme has raised awareness and strengthened knowledge of duty bearers, such as justices and judicial officers, towards the needs of the most disadvantaged populations. The Programme consolidated strategic partnerships with and between the Supreme Court, the Judicial Council and legal aid providers. Such collaboration and coordination will be expanded in 2017 and will ensure the sustainability of actions beyond the Programme duration.
