UNITED NATIONS OFFICE OF THE HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IN NEPAL Press Release – 10 December 2008 OHCHR-Nepal, NHRC launch poster to mark Human Rights Day
PDF File Size: 148 KB | Download
OHCHR-Nepal and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) today launched an illustrated version of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to mark the 60th anniversary of the UDHR. There have been many events all over Nepal designed to raise awareness of the UDHR such as a film festival, concert, a UDHR song, a marathon against impunity and the release of this new poster, to name a few. No matter how willing duty bearers may appear to be to turn the principles of the Declaration into reality, experience shows us that for this to happen, it is essential for the people to know their rights and to assert them.
