Abstract:
The Regional Support Unit had initiated developing the Regional Road map for Progressive Control of peste des petits ruminants (PPR) in the SAARC region in 2011. As a follow up to the first regional roadmap workshop this second workshop was held from 19-20 December 2013 with the objective to assessing the status of PPR in the region, building capacities in the members countries to pursue the road maps developed for the period 2014-2025 and joining global framework once it is formally put in place.The workshop was attended by 17 senior/mid level officials from the animal health services of the SAARC Member States and facilitated by an expert from the FAO HQ with support from RSU/REC. Two of FAO country project staff involved in PPR control from Pakistan and Bangladesh also participated in the workshop.
