यस वर्ष बालश्रम विरुद्ध विश्व दिवसले बालश्रम र आधारभूत मानव अधिकारको उल्ल‹नबाट सुरक्षित रहन पाउने सबै बालबालिकाका
अधिकारप्रति ध्यानाकर्षण गनेछ । सन् २०१० मा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय समुदायल सन् २०१६ सम्ममा निकृष्ट प्रकारका बालश्रम उन्मूलन गर्न मार्गचित्र अवलम्बन गर्यो। यसले बालश्रम बाल अधिकारको बाधक र विकासका लागि तगारो हो भनी जोड दिएको छ । बालश्रम विरुद्ध विश्व दिवस २०१२ ले सो मार्गचित्रलाई वास्तविकतामा परिणत गर्नका लागि गर्नपर्ने आवश्यक काम माथि प्रकाश पार्नेछ ।
आइ.एल.ओ.का महासन्धिहरू बालबालिकालाई बालश्रमको जोखिममा पर्नबाट सुरक्षित गर्नेतर्पm परिलक्षित छन् । बालबालिका, श्रमिक र
मानव अधिकारसँग सम्बन्धित अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय दस्तावेजसँगै यी महासन्धिहरूले राष्ट्रिय सरकारले स्थापना गरेका कानुनका लागि महत्वपूर्ण आधार प्रदान गर्दछन् तर आइ.एल.ओ.को पछिल्लो अनुमान अनुसार विश्वभर २१ करोड ५० लाख बालबालिका बालश्रममा संलग्न छन् र यो सङ्खयाको आधाभन्दा बढी बालबालिका निकृष्ट प्रकारका बालश्रममा संलग्न रहेका छन् ।१ यी बालबालिकाहरूले विद्यालय शिक्षा र वयस्क अवस्थामा मर्यादित काम पाउने खालका सीप हासिल गर्नुपर्दथ्यो तर अपरिपक्व अवस्थामा नै श्रम बजारमा प्रवेश गरेर उनीहरू आफू, परिवार र समुदायलाई नै गरिबीको दुष्चक्रबाट मुक्त गर्नलाई सहायता पु¥याउने महत्वपूर्ण शिक्षा र तालिमबाट वञ्चित भएका छन् । निकृष्ट प्रकारका बालश्रममा संलग्न बालश्रमिक शारीरिक, मनोवैज्ञानिक वा नैतिक हिंसाको जोखिममा पनि पर्न सक्दछन् जसल गर्दा उनीहरूको जीवनमा दीर्घकालसम्म हानि पुग्नसक्ने सम्भावना हुन्छ ।
