Representative of the Secretary-General in Nepal Karin Landgren welcomes the appointment of retired Lieut. Gen. Balananda Sharma as coordinator of the Secretariat of the Special Committee to supervise, integrate and rehabilitate Maoist army personnel. “The agreement reached between the parties yesterday on the appointment of the coordinator of the Secretariat is a welcome development that I hope will give renewed impetus to implementation of the four-point agreement. In particular, I urge the parties to focus on the key goal of the Special Committee, namely to integrate and rehabilitate the Maoist army personnel,” Landgren said.
