country’s highly complex epidemic. The launching of the awards was announced by Honorable Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishor Yadav amid a formal function held at Department of Information Hall today. Awards ceremony is slated for World AIDS Day in December 1, 2012. The awards was established in 2010 with an initiative of Asia Pacific Leadership Forum on HIV and Development (APLF), Media Panel - Nepal (now HIV Media Champions) in collaboration with the Federation of Nepali Journalists(FNJ), Department of Information(DoI), National Center for AIDS and STD Control (NCASC) and the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) is continuing its work as the central secretariat of awards and is responsible for disseminating information about awards across country, collecting the entries and then assisting in the formation of the Jury Panel in selecting the winners. Media practitioners are invited to submit their entries(articles and reports) that have been published or broadcasted within the period October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012.
