Danish support to UN Women In Nepal

The Embassy of Denmark signed an agreement with UN Women in Nepal for grant assistance of DKK Mio.equivalent supporting the implementation of the strategy and annual plan of UN Women in Nepal.The support to the implementation of the overall strategic note of UN Women is in line with the central objective of the Strategy for Denmark The support will focus on two thematic areas of UN women.namely i women and girls live life free from violence,and ii governance and national planning fully reflect accountability for gender equality commitments and priorities.These thematic areas are aligned to support commitments made by the Government of Nepal to promote women empowerment gender equality and to institutionalism and localize gender responsive budgeting.Development Cooperation the Right a Better Life.The Embassy of Denmark is translating its global commitment by supporting UN Women in Nepal to advance efforts to address violence against women and strengthen gender responsive governance,national planning and budgeting in Nepal aligning with the Government of Nepal commitment.
